Athena wore the aegis (shield) of Zeus. Fringed with snakes, it featured the head of the Gorgon Medusa around her neck. Famously, gorgons turned whoever they gazed at into stone.
As AI is being used in the arts, I worry that it is taking something truly human from us. Art isn't just an output at the end of an algorithm. It is the messy PROCESS of creating that brings in lived experience, history and thoughts, mistakes and small decisions along the way.
And as we discuss these questions of civilisation, the power of nature creeps up in the background, as inevitably she will win over in the end.
